Rakhi Israni, candidate for Congress in California's 14th District

Rakhi

Fighting Back.
Delivering Results.Democrat for CA District 14.

Rakhi doesn’t come from the political establishment.

She’s a working mother, an educator, and a nonprofit attorney who has spent decades putting her skills to work for our community.

The Vision

Restoring Affordability, Fostering our Future

The East Bay is at a crossroads. While Washington remains focused on extremes, families in California’s 14th Congressional District are facing a cost-of-living crisis that makes it harder to get by every single day. With rising prices and nearly 40% of our neighbors reporting they are financially worse off than they were just a year ago, CA District 14 deserves a representative who understands the real-world weight of the family ledger.

Rakhi brings a perspective often missing in D.C.—that of a mother of four, a nonprofit attorney, and a frontline educator. Her career has been defined by a “get-it-done” mindset, from her early training at the Police Academy to founding a Fremont-based education company that has created hundreds of jobs. As a multi-term PTA President and an educator who has mentored thousands of kids across CA-14, she has seen firsthand how economic stress trickles down into our schools, fueling a crisis of anxiety and mental health challenges for our children.

Rakhi is running as a common-sense Democrat to represent California’s 14th District and bring decency and fiscal sanity back to our nation’s capital. She is committed to tackling the affordability crisis head-on, revitalizing our economy to create good-paying jobs, and ensuring every community in CA District 14 is protected, heard, and respected.

Why Rakhi?

Rakhi combines strategic leadership with a grassroots heart and a deep foundation in public service. With a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Columbia University and an MBA from Rice University, she brings expertise to tackle complex policies and restore fiscal sanity. But her perspective was shaped early on — beginning at the police academy, where she learned the importance of safety, accountability, and the rule of law. This uncommon journey — from the academy to the courtroom to the boardroom — gives Rakhi a practical, solutions-oriented approach to leadership without the baggage of career politics.

Rakhi knows that the American Dream is built on hard work and opportunity. Over the past two decades, she grew a Fremont-based education company into a successful nationwide educational business from scratch. Along the way, she mentored tens of thousands of students and hired hundreds of staff and educators, including her husband, who left the tech sector to join the mission. Rakhi understands our economy because she lives it every day — building a business, creating jobs and helping the next generation of East Bay leaders succeed.

For Rakhi, “advocacy” represents a proven track record of action. She took on leadership roles in her children’s schools, serving as PTA President at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She is running because she believes every child deserves a future defined by opportunity and excellence.

Rakhi’s leadership is rooted in the principle of selfless service. As a volunteer executive for one of the nation’s largest faith-based humanitarian organizations, she leveraged her legal expertise to support disaster response, crisis relief and community aid. From local interfaith councils to national non-profit boards, Rakhi has consistently shown that real leadership means putting people first— not for recognition, but because it’s the right thing to do.

About Rakhi

A Mother’s Perspective. A Leader’s Experience.

The daughter of immigrants, Rakhi Israni has lived the promise of the American Dream. For over 20 years, she and her husband have raised their four children here in the East Bay, building a life rooted in community, opportunity and hard work. She is running to protect that promise for the next generation — the same opportunity that allowed her to build a business, raise a family and serve her neighbors.

Whether she is representing underserved families in court as a community service, mentoring a student, or serving on a national non-profit, Rakhi operates with a single belief: The power to make a difference doesn’t belong to politicians in Washington — it belongs to all of us.

Building Bridges, Not Barriers

Bridges have always been the lifelines in the Bay Area — connecting cities, neighborhoods and communities. We grow together not by building walls between us, but by building bridges: neighborhood to neighborhood, culture to culture, faith to faith. With common-sense leadership, we can find common ground, bring people together, and build a stronger, more united community.
